Global Taskforce Annual Principals’ Meeting

The Annual Meeting of the Global Taskforce of Local and Regional Governments will be looking at the GTF’s joint work program and the international agenda of 2026.

As in previous editions, the meeting of the Global Taskforce will provide space to reflect collectively on our shared agenda and to advance the elements that require coordination across the Taskforce. Participants will explore how local and regional actions are driving international milestones, including the midterm review of the New Urban Agenda, the 13th World Urban Forum, the High Level Political Forum, with the review of the SDG11, 2026 UN Water Conference, or CBD, UNCCD and UNFCCC COPs, while reinforcing the crucial role of local and regional governments in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.
