Changements sur "Tanger : La nouvelle frontière du mouvement municipal et territorial"

The 2026 Tangier Congress and World Summit of Local and Regional Leaders, taking place from 22 to 25 June, comes at a moment when the solutions and potential of local multilateralism can be showcased, leading to a networked multilateralism driven by local governments in partnerships with communities anchored in real needs of people, with local service provision as instruments of change and sustainability. The UCLG World Congress in 2026 is also set to be informed by the Local Social Covenant. Citizens, civil society, and local and regional leaders co-creating shared priorities, and in dialogue to place local public service provision at the center. It will be a moment to center the potential of local and regional governments beyond their value in service delivery, but also in centering the global social contract itself.

The session on the new frontier of the Municipal and Territorial Movement offers a moment for the leadership of UCLG to shape the priorities of the World Congress, and to reflect on the direction for our movement going forward. The New Frontier for our movement needs to imagine the space we occupy in the world, and calls on us to identify the ways to make it a reality, in a moment in which hope and cooperation needs to be brought back to the conversation.

Le Congrès 2026 de Tanger 2026 et Sommet mondial des dirigeants locaux et régionaux, qui se tiendra du 22 au 25 juin, intervient à un moment où les solutions et le potentiel du multilatéralisme local peuvent être mis en avant, conduisant à un multilatéralisme en réseau piloté par les gouvernements locaux en partenariat avec les communautés, ancré dans les besoins réels des populations, avec la fourniture de services locaux comme instruments de changement et de durabilité. Le Congrès mondial de CGLU en 2026 s'appuiera également sur la Coalition sociale locale. Les citoyen·ne·s, la société civile et les dirigeants locaux et régionaux co-créeront des priorités communes et dialogueront pour placer la fourniture de services publics locaux au centre des préoccupations. Ce sera l'occasion de mettre en avant le potentiel des gouvernements locaux et régionaux au-delà de leur valeur dans la prestation de services, mais aussi de centrer le contrat social mondial lui-même.

La session sur la nouvelle frontière du mouvement municipal et territorial offre aux dirigeant·e·s de CGLU l'occasion de définir les priorités du Congrès mondial et de réfléchir à l'orientation future de notre mouvement. La nouvelle frontière de notre mouvement doit imaginer l'espace que nous occupons dans le monde et nous invite à identifier les moyens de le concrétiser, à un moment où l'espoir et la coopération doivent être remis au centre des discussions.
